AirLink Vehicle Telemetry

AirLink Vehicle Telemetry is an optional feature that allows fleet management solution providers, developers, and system integrators to collect vehicle telemetry data from the vehicle diagnostic bus in order to create their rich applications and reports.

The AirLink Vehicle Telemetry kit is available as an optional accessory from Sierra Wireless and contains the following:

  • OBD-II to Serial Scanner
  • OBD-II Y-Cable
  • Male/Male Serial Cable

In order to start collecting vehicle telemetry data using the kit, users must download and install an AirLink Vehicle Telemetry Application (AVTA). AVTA is an AAF application that is available with the purchase of an ALMS account.

 

To get started you will need:

  1. A supported gateway device running ALEOS 4.5.1+
  2. AirLink Vehicle Telemetry Scanner Kit
  3. AirLink Vehicle Telemetry Application
    • Available from the AirLink Management Service (ALMS) as a public application titled “AVTA 1.0”
  4. Configure and Install the Application
  5. Install and configure your own MQTT broker on server

Compatible Gateways:

  • AirLink MP70, GX450, ALEOS 4.5.1+
