1. New Features.
This section lists the features added from the previous Firmware 7.43.
HTML Documentation: As well as PDF, the Firmware AT commands Interface Guide is available in HTML format. By installing the firmware package with the Software Installer (e.g. Sierra Wireless Software Suite v2.34 Full Installer.exe) or with the Developer Studio, you can use the Developer Studio to surf dynamically into the documentation. Press “F1” to display the dynamic contextual help to launch research or to directly access to our AT command indexation table.
CHAP authentication: CHAP authentication as well PAP could be used during a GPRS opening session with a private APN. This feature is now available in release stage (no more beta).
Dialing command for voice call supports "*" and "#": "ATD*123;" is now supported. This feature is now available in release stage (no more beta). For more information, refer to ATD in AT commands Interface Guide.
Full Autoquad band: in quad band mode on 2G products (GSM/GPRS/EDGE), the embedded module is automatically scanning all GSM frequency bands (850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz) simultaneously during network selection or research and cell handover. This new behavior is adapted to any worldwide carrier radio band configuration (for instance 900/1900 MHz network). For information, the previous behavior just allowed to work on specific groups of frequency bands (either 900/1800 MHz group or 850/1900 MHz group). For more information, refer to AT+WMBS in AT commands Interface Guide.
eCall Category: on 2G products (GSM/GPRS/EDGE), the embedded module is managing the different emergency call service category as specified in the 3GPP TS24.008 for eCall applications. This feature is available in beta stage
Dynamic SIM insertion and extraction for Q26Extreme: As well as other 2G products, the Q26Extreme is supporting dynamic SIM insertion and extraction.
Note: Sierra Wireless Software Suite has been rebranded to display Sierra Wireless as the manufacturer. For impacted AT Commands, please refer to Interface Modifications below.
Due to the dependence of some Tools like MuxConfTool on the response of the impacted AT Commands for operation, updated version of Tools have been provided in full installer of Sierra Wireless Software Suite2.34
