What is the Radio Frequency for GPS?

Oct 27, 2015 - Author: Sierra Wireless - 1746 Views

There are two frequencies utilized for GPS: one at 1575.42 MHz (10.23 MHz × 154) named “L1”; and a second at 1227.60 MHz (10.23 MHz × 120), named “L2”.

L1 is preferred since not all satellites broadcast L2.

If you’re buying a GPS repeater and need to choose between the above frequencies, then L1 is the better option unless you have interference problems. In that case you will need a repeater that supports both L1 and L2
