    Configuring IPv6 CLAT

IPv6 CLAT (Customer-side Translator) is a network feature that allows IPv4-only applications and devices to communicate over an IPv6-only network. This is particularly useful as the world transitions to IPv6 while still needing to support legacy IPv4 systems. In order for this feature to work, the network provider must support 464XLAT translation, enabling the conversion of IPv4 services to IPv6.

When you configure CLAT on the AirLink router, it will translate the IPv4 packets from the local device to IPv6 packets, which can then be transmitted over the IPv6-only network. At the other end, a PLAT (Provider-side Translator) translates the packets back to IPv4 to reach the IPv4 destination.

To configure IPv6 CLAT, go to Networking > General > WAN Services.

You can use IP Passthrough in conjunction with CLAT if you so desire. See Configuring IPv4 Passthrough for more information on how to configure IP passthrough.

    Limitations

    • AirVantage currently only supports IPv4, so IPv6 CLAT with AirVantage is not supported.

    4. Configure the following fields for IPv6 CLAT:

    SETTING DESCRIPTION DEFAULT SETTING RANGE
IPV6 CLAT SUPPORT Enable/Disable customer-side stateless translator (CLAT) Enabled Enabled,Disabled
XLAT SUBNET(S) The local IPv4 subnet(s) used for mapping to IPv6 addresses <List of all LANs/Bridges managed by the system> Must be an IPv4 address with a network prefix. For example, 10.0.0/16
IPV6 PLAT DISCOVERY Sets the method of Provider-side Translator(PLAT) discovery. Automatic Automatic,Manual
