    2 Key Features and Enhancements

2.1 System Upgrade through the UI

AM/AMM 2.17.6 now has the ability to upgrade the system software through the user interface (UI). Upgrading through the UI offers a seamless and user-friendly experience, enhancing accessibility and convenience for individuals with varying levels of technical expertise. The UI provides an intuitive platform that guides you through the upgrade process, minimizing the likelihood of errors or complications. The UI also provides you with the flexibility to customize your upgrade preferences, ensuring that it is tailored to your needs.

To upgrade, you will need to contact Technical Support to receive the necessary software package and license key. To obtain a license key your AM/AMM system must be fully licensed under a valid AirLink Support contract. Please ensure your support is up-to-date prior to requesting the upgrade package. After uploading the software package into the system, you can start the upgrade wizard. The upgrade wizard will conduct an initial system check to ensure there are adequate resources available. Following the system check, you have the option to customize the system configuration. Next input the license key, and the upgrade process will begin.

Upgrading via the UI is possible only when the current system is at AM/AMM 2.17.5. Please contact Technical Support if your current system is not at AM/AMM 2.17.5 and you wish to upgrade.

For more information on the process to upgrade the system through the UI, please refer to https://source.sierrawireless.com/airvantage/amm/reference/maintabs/upgrade/

This upgrade will take longer than a regular upgrade due to the database migration. There will be an extended system outage during the upgrade cycle. Please inform end users of the extended system outage.
