    Recommended Workflow for Adding a New Device to a Fleet

    Use this workflow when you want to add a single device to an existing fleet, and ensure that it has the same configuration as the rest of the devices in the group. This workflow applies to both MG and ALEOS devices.

    1. In the Configuration > Templates window, verify the template that you wish to deploy is linked to the group where the new device will be added. If it is not yet linked, see Deploying a Template

    2. In the Admin > Gateways window, add the new device, selecting the group where it will be deployed to. Select Save.

    3. A popup window showing which templates are linked to the group will display. By default, the Deploy configuration template(s) to the gateway is enabled. If this is disabled, the AMM will add the device to the group, but not deploy any templates. Click on Done.

    4. A summary window will display if templates are being deployed. Enable the checkboxes to complete the deployment. Check Unaffected Gateway(s) to see why a template could not be deployed. Press Submit when ready to proceed.

    Note: If the new device is not at the correct software version for the template, the AMM will automatically create the workflow to upgrade the device, and then apply the template. It will repeat this process until all the templates are applied for the correct software.
