Network: Cellular Technology Map

The Cellular Technology Map report shows the active cellular network type used by the gateway(s) for a selected cellular network type. Usage is color coded based on the percentage of the cellular network type used in a given area.

Note: this report requires MG devices running version 3.14 or higher with at least one MC7354 device installed.

Clicking on shaded regions displays information pop-ups about values in that area:

Pop-up details:

• # vehicles: shows the number of vehicles which contributed data to this area.

Target technology: shows the cellular type in use.
Other technologies: shows any additional cellular types in use.
Earliest event: first event that contributed data to this square.
Latest event: last event that contributed data to this square.
Click on Focus on this Area within a popup to drill deeper into gateway locations and time spent within the particular geographic location.

Basic Configuration Fields

• Gateway(s)^*: by default this is set to the gateway(s) selected in the gateway tree. Enter the name(s) manually to modify this field. Click on Filter to open the subfilter options.
• Report time range^*: use the drop-down menu to select from Previous Months, Previous Weeks, Previous Days or Range. Enter the numeric value in the field. When Range is selected, use the calendar pop-up to select the dates. Alternatively, enter the date and time manually (yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm).
• Limit to map area^*: select Not Limited to include data from any geographic location. Select Manually defined area to create a temporary zone for the analysis – only data from inside this zone will be included in the report. Select One or more zones to limit the analysis to one or more predefined zones (see the AMM Operation and Configuration guide for more information about zones).
• Exclusion Zones: allows the report to exclude data from one or more predefined zones (see the AMM Operation and Configuration guide for more information about zones). Leave this option checked (default setting) to include data from any geographic location. Uncheck this option to specify zones to exclude data from.
• Limit to network types: runs the report for a certain type of network. Click in the field to select the network type.

• Run report on: specifies the cellular network type to display results for. Note that ‘Band 14’ can be explicitly selected for this report; selecting LTE will exclude Band 14. The supported cellular network types for this report are:

  • LTE
  • 5G
  • Band 14
  • HDR
  • WCDMA
  • CDMA
  • GSM
  • Others

• Output Format: HTML is the only format supported for this report.

• Save for later or schedule a run time: enable to create reports that can be saved for future use. See Saving and Scheduling a Report for a Later Run Time for more information.

Advanced Configuration Fields

• Map resolution: defines the size of colored “blocks” presented in a map. The default resolution is auto.
• Map range colors: defines the different colors used on the map to represent network cellular type usage. Click on each color to access the color picker and to change the color.
